Youth Introductory Hockey Program
We offer classes for the beginner hockey enthusiast, ages 5 - 15. Players are welcome to join anytime during the season.

Program Benefits
FREE admission for players to public skating & 3 free guest passes. (skate rental not included) Free skate rental on lesson day.

Hockey 1 Wednesday 4:00 - 4:30 PM
Who's it for?
What you Learn?
Geared toward entry level boys and girls wanting to learn the fundamentals of skating and playing hockey.  Ability to skate forward is important.  Teaching basic hockey skating skills including power stride, turns, center of balance and hockey starts and stops.   Introduction to passing, stick handling and shooting.
Program Benefits Free admission for players to Public Skating & 3 guest passes. (rental not included). Free skate rental on lesson day.  Lots of fun.
Equipment

Must have a protective hockey helmet with face mask, pants, shin guards and a stick. Elbow and gloves are strongly recommended, but not required.

Each class session is 1/2 hour in length.



Hockey 2 Wednesday 4:00 - 4:30 PM

What you Learn?
Geared toward the graduates from Hockey 1or other boys and girls having some basic knowledge of skating and hockey skills.  Hockey 2 teaches more advanced hockey skills including: power skating, forward/backward crossovers, backhand passing, one on one stick handling and shooting in stride.
Program Benefits Free admission for players to Public Skating & 3 guest passes. (rental not included). Free skate rental on lesson day.  Lots of fun.
Equipment

Must have full hockey gear:  hockey helmet with face mask, elbow pads, shin guards, gloves, shoulder pads, pants, supporter and a stick. 

Each class session is 1/2 hour in length.

The schedule may be viewed without having an Ice Center account. In order to reserve and pay for your class, you will need to create an account which is a one-time process that will only take a minute or so. You will be asked to enter your email address and choose a password. Once your account is created, access for every subsequent visit for any Ice Center transaction only requires your email and password.
