ROOKIE SKATE & LITTLE HOCKEY BASIC TRAINING

Rookie Skate and LHBT classes can restart.
We are very happy to be able to reopen, to a limited extent, our very popular Rookie Skate/LHBT classes starting on November 8.

Previous Students
Every student who had classes remaining when the rink was forced to close on March 14, 2020 will get a prorated credit to apply to these new classes. In addition to the prorated credit amount each student is due based on how many class sessions remained when the rink closed, we are giving each student an ADDITIONAL 10% CREDIT BONUS that can be applied to any new class offering.

We understand that some of you might want to wait before coming back to class; all credits, including the 10% bonus, will be available throughout all of 2021 for any class offering.

We have posted a list here of all the classes that were in operation as of March 14, 2020, and the associated credit (and bonus) that is available. If you don’t know which class you were in, you can go into your Ice Center account for that information.

New Students

Anyone between the ages of 5 – 12 is welcome to register for the Little Hockey Basic Training class. We teach basic skating skills, turns, hockey stops/starts, and an introduction to stickhandling, passing and shooting. You must have full hockey gear to participate.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE UPCOMING CLASSES
The Covid-19 mandates from the County of Santa Clara and the State of California require us to pre-register and pre-pay every student for any class; we cannot accept walk-up business at this time. If you have a credit, please register for one of the new classes we will be starting November 5. Because of limitations of our software, when you register it will show the full price of the class. However, before your credit card is charged, we will manually apply the credit and bonus you are owed. Your card will only be charged for the balance due. You can view the details of your transaction from your Ice Center account once it’s processed.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT CLASS
Due to space restrictions and ice allocations, for now we are offering a combined Rookie Skate and LHBT class, using divided ice for each group. Cougar coaches will conduct skill drills designed specifically for the level of play for each group. There will be 6 weeks of classes, 45 minutes each, every Sunday morning from 10:30 to 11:15 am, starting on November 8 and ending December 20 (no class on November 29).

  • Starts November 8
  • 6 weeks of classes
  • Sunday mornings 10:30 – 11:15 am
  • Must register and pay electronically (link above) Cougar coaches
